Turbulators and Fin Tubes for Enhanced Heat Transfer Performance

- Turbulators are internal flow enhancement devices installed within heat exchanger tubes to induce turbulence in the process fluid. By disrupting laminar flow, they significantly increase the convective heat transfer coefficient, thereby improving the overall thermal performance of the exchanger

-  Fin tubes, on the other hand, are applied to the external surface of tubes and are designed to increase the effective heat transfer area. This enhancement is particularly beneficial in applications where the external heat transfer coefficient is the limiting factor

- Concept is an active member of HTRI (Heat Transfer Research, Inc.) and has developed VORTX, a proprietary software plugin that enables engineers to design heat exchangers utilizing CEI’s exclusive, HTRI-validated turbulator technology. VORTX facilitates integration of advanced turbulence promoters directly into thermal design calculations, offering optimized exchanger configurations for demanding service conditions typical of oil & gas applications
